So, when things calm down, I'll give the baby his quilt. All this friend's kids have a special quilt made for them by someone, so I'm pleased to be able to give her youngest his. I know it will be treasured and loved.
I saw a quilt pattern in the book Make Baby Quilts named Porthole by Latifah Saafir and took inspiration from it. I had been collecting blue undersea fabrics for a time now, and wanted to use those in the quilt. The original pattern called for 2" squares, but some of my prints were rather large so I decided to make 4" squares.
Babe helped me baste the finished top.
I used a flannelette as batting, minkee on the back, and the same grey for the binding that I used for the porthole. I'm very proud of how this turned out, but as usual my photography skills.
